In this Bey Atelier in Filmmaking Vol 1, students will know how to conceive and create an idea from a tagline to a complete cinematographic concept for film project. From there, students will know how to translate a screenplay into the visual language that will allow students to tell stories by using images and sound desing. This course will students you to know in depth what the work of a film director is really like. This course is designed for all types of audiovisual creators: Filmmakers, videographers, youtubers, content creators. Students will learn to bring their ideas to the screen thereby improving their audiovisual communication skills. Students will learn how a film script works in order to properly communicate with a professional film production team. A true film director must know the visual and sound language to be able to turn scripts into movies. Students will learn the cinematic language and the scene creation process by understanding cinematic semiotic signifiers, metaphors and cinematic spaces. Students will learn how a professional production team is made up by knowing in detail the tasks of each of the members of the production team. Students will learn to master the technical details to work with cinematographers, achieving excellence in the visual quality of a film project. Students will learn to use the different types of shots and lenses as well as the relationship between space and image distortion. Students will learn to use photographic anchor to master camera movement in any scene. Students will learn the figure-ground concept and balance to improve the direction of photography of a film. Students will learn about the direction of actors by knowing how to choose the best actors for each project. The student will learn about the process of creating a character for an actor or actress as well as the best strategies to develop a successful casting. Students will learn the different types of visual narrative to tell a story. Students will learn about the film editing process as well as the importance of the film director’s vision in the development of visual and special effects. Students will learn the importance of sound design and how to turn it into a language that is capable of translating visual scenes into sounds. Students will learn to choose the best soundtrack for their movies and film projects, knowing the difference between diegetic music and scoring.
