Every place has its own sound. Every sound tells a story. The world sings its symphony to us every day, every moment. But how can we hear that song?How can we become present with the sounds of this moment, right here and now?The answer, of course, is Meditation. This course has been specifically designed for developing Ambiance awareness and Meditative alignment with the sense of hearing. Each session is a series of ambiance recordings with an awareness bell sound at key moments. The forms of these sessions are constructed to bring your attention into a renewed alertness. You will recognize many of the fundamental Ambiance sounds in these sessions. The sound of running water: Water has cleaning and healing properties and has for centuries been used by Meditation practitioners to enter into states of flow. The sound of a stream of water relaxes the mind and body, opens awareness and removes blockages of the subjective experience. The sound of birds singing: The bird has a song that is fresh and new every day. When a bird sings, it is a reminder of the aliveness of music. To hear a birds song as music, is to remember that music is a perfectly natural phenomenon. The sound of city Ambiance: The city can sometimes bring up feelings of clutter and struggle. But what is less often realized is the peace of city Ambiance. There is a harmony, a kind of coordination in the hustle and bustle of city traffic. That harmony can easily be experienced from a distance, as the sounds come together from afar. This course is essential for Meditative awareness of sound.
