In Kukishinden we are striving to understand a feeling between two people at a moment of meeting, not a specific movement or technique. However, this feeling must be developed through practice. Our practice in this Ryu consists of stances, movement, strikes, and kata. The Kata within Kukishinden are based on real battles which took place within the styles history, not long memorized patterns. Students will learn about the founding and transmission of this school starting in the 1300s and into the modern day with Takematsu Toshitsugu. You will learn wonderful exercises for fitness and health using a pure and clean weapon - 6 foot long wooden staff. The second lecture begins training with a meditation on the beach and setting of awareness and intention for practice. Then we will warm up and review some things from course one. We will explore each kata in detail with overhead, side, and multi angle views, also performed with a partner and lastly with broken rhythm and intensity that simulates a real fight. Variations in footwork and handling are demonstrated. This video is professionally recorded with voice overs from Cold Mountain Studio, an original soundtrack by the author, and beautiful cinematic photography that will inspire your training and bring you back time and time again. We recommend you complete the basics in course one before advancing to this level. A free bonus is attached to the end of this class! Two extra video sessions on a Kobudo Kata are included for free to learn a completely different feeling and style to add to your training. Kobudo Kata 1 is powerful and strong and resembles a more traditional form than the applicational fight studies of Kukishinden Ryu. While this is one of my more expensive classes available on Udemy, you will find it is well worth the investment. Overall, this is one of the best studies of the long stick you will find - giving you many years of enjoyable training, solo or with a partner, and access to a tradition of excellence from across the globe. Join a family of worldwide martial artists, and begin your training in a school that is also known as one of the branches of Ninjutsu in the modern era. For licensed, personal instruction, find a school within the Bujinkan organization in your area. Ask for training in Kukishinden Rokushaku Bojutsu; the long staff. Thank you, Spencer
