We are going to sit at our favorite caf with a cup of coffee or tea, and enjoy life while sharing with you as my friends the knowledge of this subject which I have developed over my entire life as a practicing artist and art historian. In this course we will also seek to learn from the French how to enjoy life, the Joie de Vivre, which is the main theme of these beautiful paintings. Impressionism revolutionized the way we see and convey the world around us. In this course we focus primarily on French Impressionism. First we cover the founders of Impressionism: Manet, Monet, Renoir, Degas and Toulouse-Lautrec. Then we will explore the work of some less well known, but excellent artists: Vuillard, Fantin-Latour, Pissarro, Berthe Morisot, the sculptor Rodin, Caillebotte, and the Spanish master Sorolla. Everything covered in this course is based on direct and first hand observation focusing on the works, the art, rather thanon all the tangential things.I teach lecture courses and studios as I wish they would have been taught to me. Education for evolution is an educational system designed to help propel humans forward in the natural course of evolution. The purpose of education for evolution is to enhance and strengthen the natural evolutionary process of humans through the mechanism of education. The means to achieve this objective is the design of a curricula based on the same educational techniques and strategies used by natural evolution, enhanced and guided by the application of conscious educational decisions.
