This course supports the first eight chapters of the book, “Certifiable Optician”. Topics addressed are: Metric system and conversions, basic physics of light, mirrors, flat, convex and concave, refraction and dispersion, prisms and lens forms, focal length and diopters, the lens clock and base curves, toric lenses, optical cross and transposing prescriptions. These topics provide a solid base for courses now in production.
