This is a course designed to help you deal with the loss of a loved one. Dealing with bereavement is actually a skill that you will need to acquire. No one will ever get over loss, but with time and development and learning and growth, we are able to see grief and loss in a different way. After my son’s suicide, I found myself in a deep, black hole. This was not a good place to be. I needed to get out of that black hole. In this course, I have explained and described the ten steps that I needed to apply to step out of that black hole. Today, I have good days and bad days, but I am never in that black hole because I have taught myself how to climb out of the darkness and to step toward the light. The death of a child to suicide is unique to other losses because it includes high feelings of parental guilt, failure and blame. Suicide is also unexpected, with a lot that is left unsaid. Losing a child to any cause, causes the parent to lose their way and their self-esteem takes a tremendous knock. The parent can no longer function at work, can no longer raise their family and their relationship with their spouse often leads to separation and divorce.I am so grateful that I was able to work with a psychologist to determine these ten brilliant steps and I am thrilled to share them with you.
